EMERGENCY RELIEF RESPONSE: CAVITE, PHILIPPINES

This project was implemented in response to the hardship caused by Super Typhoon Uwan that recently hit the Philippines. Uwan was the second deadly typhoon that hit Philippines just days after Tino. It devastated northern Philippines, flooding 132 villages, leaving 10 dead and 1.4 million displaced.

ACT Malaysia collaborated with Islam the Original Religion of Mankind (IORM) Inc. and Rahima Da’wah Center, Inc. to reach out and aid the typhoon victims of Cavite, a province south of Metro Manila, Philippines. Their most urgent need were food items. Thus, food packs containing rice, eggs, bread, cooking oil, canned goods, coffee, and noodles were distributed to 100 families affected. Meal packs were also distributed. These families were identified by our partners on the ground the IORM and Rahima Da'wah Center. Many of them have been displaced due to damage to their homes caused by flash floods.
