EMERGENCY RELIEF PROJECT, BICOL, PHILIPPINES
This project was implemented in response to the request of Maysalay community leaders to repair the damages to their center caused by Super Typhoon Uwan. Uwan was the second deadly typhoon that hit Philippines just days after Tino. It devastated northern Philippines, flooding 132 villages, leaving 10 dead and 1.4 million displaced https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/11/11/typhoon-fung-wong-leaves-philippines-with-10-dead-1-4-million-displaced)
The Maysalay center serves as a prayer area and learning area for the reverts in this community. It also served as evacuation area for people displaced by flood
The typhoon ripped most of the roof of the center and damaged its walls. The fund was used to install new roof to the center. ACT Malaysia collaborated with Kasangga ng Manggagawa to repair part of the damages caused by the typhoon. Specifically, new timber frames and metal roofing were installed.
