EMERGENCY RELIEF PROJECT, BICOL, PHILIPPINES

This project was implemented in response to the request of Maysalay community leaders to repair the damages to their center caused by Super Typhoon Uwan. Uwan was the second deadly typhoon that hit Philippines just days after Tino. It devastated northern Philippines, flooding 132 villages, leaving 10 dead and 1.4 million displaced https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/11/11/typhoon-fung-wong-leaves-philippines-with-10-dead-1-4-million-displaced ) The Maysalay center serves as a prayer area and learning area for the reverts in this community. It also served as evacuation area for people displaced by flood The typhoon ripped most of the roof of the center and damaged its walls. The fund was used to install new roof to the center. ACT Malaysia collaborated with Kasangga ng Manggagawa to repair part of the damages caused by the typhoon. Specifically, new timber frames and metal roofing were installed.

This project was implemented in response to the hardship caused by Super Typhoon Uwan that recently hit the Philippines. Uwan was the second deadly typhoon that hit Philippines just days after Tino. It devastated northern Philippines, flooding 132 villages, leaving 10 dead and 1.4 million displaced.   ACT Malaysia collaborated with Islam the Original Religion of Mankind (IORM) Inc. and Rahima Da’wah Center, Inc. to reach out and aid the typhoon victims of Cavite, a province south of Metro Manila, Philippines. Their most urgent need were food items. Thus, food packs containing rice, eggs, bread, cooking oil, canned goods, coffee, and noodles were distributed to 100 families affected. Meal packs were also distributed. These families were identified by our partners on the ground the IORM and Rahima Da'wah Center.
